Teeth Whitening Q & A

How does in-office teeth whitening work?

Dr. Cummings uses the KöR Whitening System for patients who are looking to whiten their teeth as safely and naturally as possible. Unlike whitening alternatives, KöR does not use lights or laser therapy to achieve desirable results. Instead, KöR is created with a proprietary KöR Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel™ Hydremide® Peroxide formulation and delivery system that whitens and brightens teeth without the unpredictability of laser therapy.

To ensure perfect results every time, KöR also relies on continuous refrigeration of its whitening gels. This process delivers more predictable results than traditional whitening solutions.

Because KöR shies away from lasers and harsh chemicals, its whitening gels are perfect for patients with tooth sensitivity. KöR can even brighten your teeth if they are darkly stained from red wine, black tea, or coffee.

What are my at-home teeth whitening options?

In addition to in-office whitening, KöR has an at-home teeth whitening kit that Dr. Cummings tailors to meet your individual needs. KöR-Night™ is a two-week process in which Dr. Cummings provides you with custom trays that you wear at night to whiten your smile.

KöR-Day™, meanwhile, offers the same results for patients who feel uncomfortable using whitening trays at night. They are also recommended to patients who have super-sensitive teeth and cannot use whitening products for longer than a very short period of time.

Another option, KöR-MAX™ gives patients the best of both worlds, combining one in-office visit with at-home maintenance. In most cases, this combination offers the best results to patients, especially those with busy schedules.

What can I do to maintain my results?

What makes KöR an ideal whitening option is that it’s gentle enough to use more than once. Whether you opt for an in-office visit, at-home custom trays, or a combination of both, your teeth and gums should never feel painful or overly sensitive after a whitening treatment.

You can easily maintain these results by scheduling routine maintenance appointments with Dr. Cummings and making sure you’re on top of your oral health. It’s also recommended to avoid red wine, tobacco, black tea, and other foods and drinks that may stain your teeth.
