COVID-19 Pandemic: "In The Middle Of Every Difficulty Lies Opportunity." -Albert Einstein

During this time of uncertainty we want you to know that we are still here for you. The COVID-19 pandemic has the entire human race facing never-before-heard-of challenges. Social distancing, quarantine, and stay at home orders have never been mandated on such a large scale. Though unsettling, the reality is that there are a multitude of things you can do to take advantage of this time we have all been given. Until we can resume our work, family and health routines as we did before the COVID-19 outbreak; consider the opportunities for new routines.
As you contemplate financial obligations, unpaid debts, and assets, just remember, WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. Everyone is waking up each morning contemplating their job security, wondering how they will pay their bills, what will happen if they don't pay them, what the consequences will be of any unpaid debts. While you may be struggling with worries regarding finances, know that we are all going through this together. Your neighbors, friends, family members, coworkers, bosses all have the same concerns and we will all come out of this together.
The reality is that we essentially have been given an opportunity to hit the "reset" button in life. Make an effort to use this time as such. Spend time with your children teaching them how to do things you never seem to have time for, because right now you have the time. Strengthen your relationship with your spouse. Learn a new skill or hone your craft. Work on home improvement projects, attempt and perfect new culinary techniques that you never had time for, or simply read a book that you've had on your desk or nightstand for months. This is a great time to do online continuing education courses and aim to be the best version of yourself by the time you get back to working full time.
Consider how much sleep you are getting and start repaying that sleep debt you have accrued over the years of life's nonstop demands. Good sleep, regular exercise and proper nutrition will optimize your immune system should you be exposed to COVID-19 or any other biological threat. Adequate sleep helps to reduce stress, can improve memory, lower blood pressure, help your body fight infection, maintain proper body weight, improve mood, reduce the chance of developing diabetes, maintain heart health, reduce chronic pain, and lastly improve alertness and mental sharpness. Meal planning will help you to make good choices and keep your nutrition balanced. Nutrition and exercise are interrelated with sleep to optimize all of the body's growth and reparative processes. And get outside! Go for a walk in your neighborhood or swing in the backyard for a mood boosting activity and Vitamin D. Last but certainly not least, don't forget to brush your teeth.
Hopefully this helps you take advantage of the unprecedented opportunity we have been given. Though staying safe and healthy is paramount, remember, this too shall pass and life will go on. Soon enough we will all be caught up in our busy day to day lives once again. Therefore, it is essential that we all take the time to nourish and grow our mind, body, soul and craft. Though at times the future may seem filled with uncertainty, your stress may be high and you may be feeling low. Don't ever forget to be kind to one another and look after each other. WE, the human race, are all in this together and thus we will prevail.
On a local level, we at Sterling Ridge Cosmetic & Family Dentistry are also here for you in this time of uncertainty. In the meanwhile, we too will be taking this time to better ourselves so that when the time comes, we will be ready to hit the ground running and once again help you optimize your oral health.
